Biggest of Bollywood's babas

On Wednesday afternoon, when Sanjay Dutt was shooting for Indra Kumar's Double Dhamaal on the third floor of Mehboob Studios, we saw quite a huge turn out of B-townies paying visit to Sanjubaba.

We thought Sanju had thrown a secret bash for his close friends and colleagues. When we probed, we were told that it was just a visit everyone paid, out of their respect and love for him.

While Sanju was at his wittiest best shooting with his co-actors Arshad Warsi, Ashish Chowdhury, Riteish Deshmukh etc., on the sixth floor of the same building, biwi Maanyata was bonding with her sisters-in-law, Namrata Dutt and Priya, who were shooting for a magazine cover. After pack up in the afternoon, Sanjay joined them to relax for a while.

Amongst those who came to visit Dutt, T Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar and his trusted aide Vinod Bhanushali were the first.

Salman Khan, who had just entered the studio to shoot for another magazine to promote his film Ready, learnt about Baba's presence on the sixth floor and went to meet him. The two have been close ever since their Saajan days in the early 90's. Now even we felt nostalgic.

Adjacent to Sanju's floor, Suniel Shetty, Bobby Deol, Irrfan Khan and Celina Jaitley were promoting their upcoming film Thank You. Suniel too grabbed a chance to strike a conversation with his friend.

Just when we thought that finally the visits had come to an end, Shilpa Shetty, who too was shooting for a magazine, also paid a short visit to Sanju and his family.

Shilpa was heard saying that it has been a while since they met. Even director Rohit Jugraj and hair stylist Aalim Hakim took this opportunity to meet Sanju. Whew!

That's not all. After spending brief time with Salman and having a hearty laugh, as Sanju was leaving for home with Maanyata, music directors Sajid Wajid, producer Rajat Rawail, project designer Rafi Kazi, secretary Rajkumar Tiwari, Celina Jaitley, Salman's sister Arpita, Asin (And we're running out of space here), Salman's trusted aide Nadeem came ahead and began to hug and talk to Sanju baba.

When Sanjay Dutt was charged with involvement in the 1993 bomb blasts, with a supportive father (late) Sunil Dutt, he managed to surpass everyone's expectations.

He not only fought his court battle like a man but also bounced back after a 14-year-long ordeal. Despite all that harshness, his warmth still surrounds one and all.

Perhaps it's those years that made him the man he is. It's what makes him command such love and respect from his colleagues and industrywallas. We were left jaw dropped!
