After a gruelling bug-laden Bushtucker trial, the 21-year-old was forced to strip off and wash away the nasties. Stacey took part in the ’Star In their Pies’ task which involved sitting in a giant pie base and having to fish out stars from vile things dropped in.

Some of the delights included meal worms, cockroaches and - rather more mildly - vegetables.

Clearly excited about the prospect of feeding camp, she gushed: ’Get me in the pie, I’m really excited, let’s do it.’

But after trying to fish out stars with her mouth or hands from meat and offal, cockroaches, crickets, meal worms – as well as gravy and gloopy eggs – she only managed to scoop three of the six stars.

Speaking to Ant and Dec after the task, she said: ’I just couldn’t get the stars in my mouth, I know you were thinking she’s got a big enough mouth why couldn’t she get it in.

’I’m gutted to only get three stars, I might as well just go kill myself!’

Upon returning to camp, the former X Factor star didn’t make up any elaborate excuse for her poor performance, simply saying: ’It wasn’t hard, I was just poo.

’I thought it would be a piece of cake but it just went past my face… it was so disgusting. I thought ‘thank your daddy for the big teeth and big mouth’ but they didn’t come in handy.

So what seemed like an attempt to attract some male attention and pull in a few more voters at home was actually just Stacey innocently removing the debris of the gruesome task..

In her only interview before going on I’m A Celebrity . . .

Get Me Out Of Here!, the 28-year-old stunner told The Sun: “I’m not going in there to find love or to flirt.

“So it’s going to be very difficult as I haven’t seen my bloke for weeks. But he’s flying to Oz to be with me when I come out.

“I’m definitely going to be hot and bothered by the time I get out of that jungle. He’s going to have to watch out!”

The slinky star, who is engaged to Irish bouncer Graham Quinn, 30, also plans to wow viewers by wearing sexy lingerie on the hit reality show, which kicks off at 9pm on Monday on ITV1.

She said: “We can only take three pairs of knickers into the jungle so I have got lovely La Perla underwear.”

Myleene’s stint on the reality show comes five years after she found fame on ITV1’s Popstars ? and won a place in now defunct band Hear’Say.

But they split 18 months later, in October 2002. Myleene now has a solo record deal and TV jobs. She said: “If I can survive Hear’Say, I can survive the jungle!”

Myleene is not the only contestant to have trouble with her undies.

Phina Oruche, 34, lost her luggage on the way to Australia ? but does not care because she goes commando anyway.

The sexy Footballers’ Wives star said: “I’m not a knicker wearer. I think I might have to wear them in the jungle, though. I don’t want to flash at everyone at home.”

She also revealed that if she wins she will donate her prize money to sick seven-year-old Keiton Knight, from Hove, East Sussex, who needs life-saving stem cell treatment.

She said: “He needs £500,000 to go to the States for the operation.”
