No point worrying over past. Go ahed and file a AR11 ASAP to make sure from now on USCIS has your updated address. In case in future this becomes an issue then contact a lawyer and try to resolve it.

Today my attorney filed my 485 with e-reciept of 140. My employer told that they didnt recieved reciept notice by mail so My attorney used 140 e-reciept for 485 filing.

If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, and you paid the I-485 application fee required, then no fee is required to file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485.
If you are filing for an extension of your Employment Authorization and your Form I-485, Application for Permanent Residence, was filed before July 30, 2007, then you must pay the $340 filing fee.
Based on the above text, you are supposed to pay $340. Chances are that your EAD application might be rejected due to no filing fee.

It looks like the picture is quite severely overexposed. Since you have a bright moon on a black background, depending on the relative sizes of the moon and background, the exact focusing point and how the metering works you'll easily end up with an overexposed moon (due to the dark background).
As an alternative , spotmeter the moon to figure out the exposure and/or use the histogram.

I'm sorry -- I didn't follow. Can I use the H1-B which has been extended for 3 yrs since my 140 was approved already for a yr and the visa numbers weren't current? (I've already used up by 6 yrs)

You new employer can file for H-1B change of status for (upto) 3 years since you have I-140 approved and your PD is not current. The fact, that I-140 was applied by current (or ex) employer, does not matter.

nothing to worry about, it happened to me too,
I opened an SR and two weeks later my wife got FP and I didn't, I thought I'll wait for a week or two but in vain. When I gave a follow-up call I came to know that FP was scheduled at my Attorney's place (I live in west coast and I was scheduled to attend FP at ASC in East coast) and the twist is my attorney never received it.on top of it when I asked the Rep about possibility of scheduling an FP at my place she advised me to file AR-11 form, at this point it was very clear to me that Rep doesn't have a clue on what she is talking about. the very next day I was luck to get hold of nice rep who said I quote
" I don't understand why these people schedule FP at attorney�s location"
he apologized and said he will open an SR to reschedule at my location and he assured me that this time it will be at my location, which I got in couple of weeks.
Hope you will get your FP notice soon.

They'll probably start with what Senate passes. and make some minor amendments.
If it passes the house, conference will be piece of cake.
Our best hope is:
1. When senators return to the constituencies for the memorial day recess, they receive a LOT of negative feedback about CIR and enough number of senators change their minds and vote in -ve and bill fails to make out of the Senate. Likelihood: 10-20%.
2. House of reps votes on this CIR and defeats it. Likelihood: 40-60%.
I hope one way or another, this piece of crap fails and I happily get my GC in another 5-10 years. If it passes, I'll have to pack my bags. Amen.

For case where GC and H1b sponsoring employer is same, please tell (as per USCIS rules/guidelines):
1. When switching from H1b to EAD (while working for GC sponsoring employer) does GC/H1b sponsoring employer have to cancel H1b ?
2. If on AP/EAD WITHOUT work, is there any liability to GC/H1b sponsoring employer ? Does he have to cancel H1b ?

I am not sure why you are switching from valid H1B to EAD and while still working for the GC sponsoring employer.
However Employer DOES have to inform (and request cancellation) to USCIS about H1B employee no longer working for them on H1B visa. Its the law.

You need to do a Change of Status from h4 to h1 with USCIS again. Your Lawyer should have more details about it. At that time you get a H1 papers with I94 attached and extended. You can get a ssn, once the H1 becomes active. Cannot get SSN for future effective date H1.

This is for a good friend of mine. He is going to get married in dec 2007. He has already applied for 140 premium processing. There is a opportunity to apply for 485 by end of this month and he has asked me for advice on this matter. His labor has PD March 2005(got cleared).
My request to all IV members is to give me some advice that I can pass on to him.
Please help !
I think we are looking at severe backlogs (sic) once 485 is filed, so your friend can happily marry(quickly) and file I485 and bring her here too. Its probably going to take a long time to reach the current status anyway after this bulletin. But I suggest marry in his current status - H1 , then she can come in as H4 and file for 485 along with him

Unless you want to get ready for boilerplate RFEs on the 140 dont go for premium processing. They just issue RFEs to make sure that case is "processed".

I sent my supporting documents for e-filing to NSC PO box and it reached next day noon. I also got LUD next day.
This is what I see on the USPS Tracking details.
'"Your item was delivered at 11:03 AM on July 8, 2008 in LINCOLN, NE 68501 to INS EXPRESS . The item was signed for by F HEINAUER."

Does the checks getting cashed mean the applicaton is accepted - and for whatever reason if they deny willu get the fees back?????
