This season 70's influences have seen us wearing oversized sunglasses, fringe boots and fur jackets. So it's no surprise that ankle swaying flare jeans have come back as the new direction in denim styles. Due to the fact that skinny jeans have had a good 5 years in the limelight, more and more celebrities are reverting back to the classic.

Recently Jessica Alba, Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton and Claudia Schiffer opted for dark flared jeans teamed with oversized sunglasses to give them that ultimate 70's look. While Nicole Richie, Katie Holmes and Miley Cyrus prefer casual light washes with extra slouch. Whether you prefer dark and dressed up or light and casual, it is definitely time to embrace the trend.

Beanie Babies on the loose

Last winter, stylish attendees at Paris and Milan fashion week previewed this year's coolest winter trend, the beanie. The beanie has re-emerged as a fashion must-have on Hollywood's hottest heads.
With most trends, males take a back seat while women play the field, but the beanie has men playing the fashion field too. David Beckham, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Patterson, Zac Efron and the Bond himself Daniel Craig have all added a touch of cool with this casual head gear. Starlets including Vanessa Hudgens, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton opted for floppy beanies that sit loosely on the head. Pairing the look with designer sunglasses and neutral shades makes the look understated yet chic.

While Rachel Bilson, Avril Lavigne and Jessica Alba covered up their bed hair with the praticality of a beanie, others chose to make a fashion statement. Gwen Stefani wore an emerald green beanie with scarlet red lips while Katie Holmes complimented her snow white beanie with a beautiful matching woollen sweater. Natalie Portman kept it classy with a classic grey trench coat and knockout turquoise beanie.

Never has the beanie reserved for skiing and winter activities looked so trendy as these Hollywood heads prove.

Katie Holmes Balenciaga Bag

The bag that sprung up on Katie Holmes shoulder post-pregnancy caused quiet the frenzy in the handbag lovers world. The Balenciaga Vert Gazon Giant Day bag was the ideal day bag, (excuse the pun), to stash Suri's Barley water concoctions and fresh diapers for the Scientology cadet.

The luxurious green handbag which retails for over $1000 + was admired by many but worn so rarely by the Dawson's Creek graduate. However, the bag which was in hiding since 2007 has finally reared its pretty big gold hardware during Katie's frequent trips to her Broadway Performances and now serves entirely different purposes, one being, to make me green with envy.

Working her way up the fashion icon ladder, Katie Holmes is proving to be the new face of low key glamour spruced up with first class designer brands. From her choice in Chloe bags and Chanel coats, it is no wonder she is the new one to watch.
Her choice of great sunglasses isn't lacking either. Mrs Katie Holmes-Cruise has been seen in an array of sunglasses recently, with oversized styles being a favourite. In New York, Katie has been shading herself from paparazzi flashes with a unique pair on Balenciaga Bal 00333/S sunglasses. These sunglasses are a plastic frame, with another metal frame wrapped around the top of the lenses which work their way out and act as the arms of the sunglasses. A hard style to pull off due to its narrower size, so definitely try before you buy.
This week Katie was seen wearing the new Dolce and Gabbana 2050 B sunglasses. These sunglasses are a large round rimless style with a refreshingly discreet Swarovski crystal DG logo on the sides, perfect if your after a vintage look.

The exclusive Oliver Peoples range has fast become popular with many celebrities and Katie is sporting the new Oliver Peoples Sofiane Sunglasses. These sunglasses are of the highest quality featuring suspended metal which gives off the illusion that the internal wire is floating. These sunglasses have also been seen on Tori Spelling, Claudia Schiffer, Christina Aguilera and Kate Beckinsale.

Lastly, Katie has been wearing the classically styled Michael Kors 526 sunglasses in dark navy. The sunglasses which were first made popular by Angelina Jolie and were later seen on Jennifer Garner and Jessica Alba and have finally made their way on this pretty face. These are beautifully crafted sunglasses with crocodile skin pattern arms and a small Michael Kors logo plate on the sides. Simple and truly beautiful.

Latest Obsession: Katie Holmes Rehearsals

As she headed to rehearsals for her latest Broadway play All My Sons by Arthur Miller, Katie Holmes was under the watchful eye of many fashion critics. Many Anti-Scientologists ripped into her about her dress sense, way of life and style transformation.

I'm probably in the minority here, but i absolutely adored everything Katie Holmes wore as she headed in and out of the theatre doors to a paparazzi choca-block. Her distressed baggy jeans by PRPS Jeans with a starting price of $300, were ridiculed because they brought back the 80's peg-leg look.

I prefer Katie smartened up in her high-waisted, wide leg, J-Brand jeans with a casual t-shirt, cardigan and sky-high heels or skinny jeans with a well fitted blazer and metallic coated ballet flats.

Although her looks were kept simple, her handbags were top notch. The first photo shows Katie Holmes carrying around a Chloe Python Paratay bag which has also been seen on Mary-Kate Olsen. She has also been seen toting around a tan YSL Muse 2 bag, Hermes Kelly bag and Giorgio Armani oversized crocodile tote.

She has also been seen numerous times wearing the a crazy amount of high end sunglasses. She has been seen in Michael Kors 526 Crocodile sunglasses in dark navy (4th picture), also seen on Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Garner. Other sunglasses seen on Katie include Oliver Peoples Sofiane round sunglasses in Red Passion (3rd picture) and a few buckle temple classics by Roger Vivier (1st & 5th pic).

You may not agree, but all in all, she was understated and fabulous.

BOB IT!

Although The Bob is no new do, Hollywood hair is definitely getting the crop of late. While Victoria Beckham maintains her brunette bob, her BFF Eva Longoria recently chopped her lovely locks for a new role. It's a shame that she needed a acting role in order to try out a new look, because this look is absolutely STUNNING on her.

Surprisingly Hayden Panettiere went for a swanky new short do which is beyond her years. Then again she comes across as a lot more mature then the rest of the DUI starlets driving around.
Although the rumour is that short hair is easier to maintain, when not maintained it could make for a childish dishevelled look which could get you confused with your 2 year-old daughter...jokes love you Katie!

To mark the beginning of summer, celebrities say hello in yellow to sunny days and long nights. Rihanna, Beyonce, Katie Holmes and Denise Richards ditched their winter blacks for statement dresses, coats and jackets in bright banana yellow.

Checking in & out of hotel rooms, jumping on private jets and nursing a two-year-old are bound to leave bags under those glamorous eyes. Hollywood's leading couple, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes shielded themselves in style throughout their adventures this week.



While Katie Holmes donned classic Roger Vivier Buckle sunglasses, in both black and gradient brown, Tom Cruise led in the fashion stakes, shielding himself in a yet-to-be-realised pair of Karl Lagerfeld KL610S aviators.

Karl Lagerfeld the designer behind Fendi & Chanel is re-launching his eyewear collection alongside Marchon Eyewear and is bound to have a fair few famous fans.

The Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York was once again a glamorous affair.

I can't help but think how wonderful it would to have Jennifer Lopez as a mum. She seems like the type that loves her loved ones to death and would do anything for her two babies Max & Emme. She's certainly springing back into shape in a flash, she looks like she may even get thinner than her pre-pregnancy weight. They look sooo happy no?

Why am i not surprised Beyonce gown in this style? At least this time she looks as if she can sit and breathe for that matter. The pastel pink is beautiful against her complexion and her hair and make up are so glamorously low key and somewhat unexpected for Beyonce.

Ahhh my girl Katie Holmes! She embodied every little girls fairytale-to grow up and dress like a princess. Only difference is she's already grown up and she's already Hollywood's princess, and this innocently fun outfit looks like a child going through mama's closet and dressing up. I love how the matching red eye shadow made her look luminous rather than drugged up and tired. The clashing blue pumps are perfect.

Rachel Bilson's dress got a lot of negative feedback, because it kind of looks like a Olympic swimming team body suit. I don't mind it too much, it has that Alexander McQueen sleek feel to it, however the bangs in her face is what's really throwing me off, it doesn't really fit with the whole look. Prehaps a swept up slicked look would have flown better in the whole.

Perhaps inspired by wonder women, Christina Ricci's outfit was my favourite of the night. Wasn't she once the cute curvy girl? She seems like she's a dress size smaller at every event.

WOW! How sophisticated does Ashley Olsen look? She's got that mature womanly vibe going on and that smile!! I love the modern cut-out design of Ashley's dress, which contrasts perfectly to Mary-Kate's glitzy vintage glitzy gold number. I love Mr Louboutin's studded oxford shoes too :)

Victoria Beckham lives for this sort of thing. Dressing up, posing and mingling with the best of them. Her white lace dress is extremely sexy and the girls got the body for it. Many thought her make-up was far too severe, but it does work well with her hair and the red lips add colour to an otherwise black and white couple.

Escorted by the likes of Mr Dolce & Mr Gabbana would sure put a smile on your face too. Scarlett Johansson kept to her style of frilly dresses with plenty of cleavage push. I like how she played up the cute factor with the headband and puffy dress as opposed to her usual sex-bomb status, then again an "engaged" women must spare her assets for her one and only leading man. ;)

Speaking of the curvy types, Victoria Beckham (*cough, cough*) celebrated her 34th Birthday last week with a fine list of celebrities including Eva Longoria, P.Diddy, Katie Holmes & Kate Beckingsale. Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise wore sunglasses at night to shield themselves from the harsh UV rays of the moon?? Katie being the loyal friend she is, wore Victoria Beckhams DVB 3 sunglasses.

It was kind of random that Gwen Stefani & Usher showed up, but not one Spice Girl was in attendance...hmmm

Jeans and jackets

When everything is tried and tested in your wardrobe, the one thing you can always rely on is a great pair of jeans.

The right fit, cut and style can make for a slick outfit day or night, which is the rule Halle Berry, Katie Holmes and Jessica Simpson put to the test of late.

All three chose to leave their OTT designer clothes in their wardrobes whilst pairing their beloved blue jeans with classic black jackets. Rather than focusing on colour, Halle Berry's jacket relyed on its snake skin texture to bring out it's appeal. Whilst Katie Holmes wore a carefree 60's style swing jacket.

The result is great, effortless and wearable any day of the week.

From Rihanna's edgy do to Paris Hilton sophisticated cut, the Bob is one of the hottest hairstyles in Hollywood.

However, everyone this side of the world, seems to be rocking the 'Pob' the look that was relaunched thanks to Victoria Beckham.

When comparing all the bob clad girls, i think Paris Hilton and Katie Holmes (in the above pixture) look beautiful with the hair do, but if i tried it i would probarbly look like i have a bloated fat face or i would feel naked and lost without my long hair...do i have hidden insecurity issues? probarbly.

Katie Holmes look is changing by the minute that it's hard to keep up. But at the Bambi awards Katie showed off an edgy new do with bangs and all. I like the fact that she has a "look" but i'm not sure if i'm liking the look, it adds at least 15 years to her age.

I don't know whether she's bored of her look or she feels a need to look relatively close in age to Tom Cruise but i really do miss old Dawson's Creek Katie Holmes-the sweet looking girl with the adorably slighty crooked grin. Besides i would think that Tom Cruise would love to a young sexy looking woman on his arm that one that looks more and more like Cruella De Vill by the day.

His ex Nicole Kidman attended the Country Music Awards in a ravishing printed gradient dress by Alexander McQueen, while Tom Cruise's current leading lady, Katie Holmes wore an elegant midnight blue velvet gown this week.

Both these women always look elegant and show us that moms can be hotties too...

Designer wear has come to whole new level, with houses such as Burberry catering for tiny-tots.

Although most of us may not have grown up wearing Burberry checks, these famous kiddies are living the high life while sucking on their pacifiers.

And lucky for them, both Suri Cruise and Gwen Stefani's son Kingston, their parents have enough money to stock up on Burberry Baby for a lifetime.

I seem to be becoming a bigger and bigger fan of Katie Holmes these days. Her style is so much more grown up and sophisticated, and she's just a class act. She knows how to dress well, looks natural and is a sweetie taking photos with her fans, herself!

But i really think that Katie Holmes may need to eat a bit more spinach, because the girl needs to one arm to hold the other arm up...surely the camera cannot be that heavy, can it?
