I can't tell you the name of the University of Maryland's new
basketball coach since Gary Williams's recent retirement, but I do like
to keep informed about what's happening at my alma mater in College
Park, Maryland. Of course, when the alumni magazine arrived in my

If you're a woman in Washington, you often find the occasion to wear a
cocktail dress--especially in the spring, when the warmer weather

Prada for President?
Recently, Miuccia Prada--as in, Prada pumps, "The Devil Wears,"
etc.--told Women's Wear Daily that she would consider getting into
politics in Italy. "Politics have always been a little of my passion,"
she said. "And now I [could] use my work as a tool to do things other
than fashion." I can't find anything about her political views nor how
that would play out in Italy, but she does have a Ph.D

The Hollywood awards shows have nothing on a royal wedding. The last
time we heard a buzz this loud about a dress was in January 2009, when

London Fashion Week: Jasper Conran
While enjoying my Illy on this holiday, I've been reading a recent
profile of British designer Jasper Conran in the UK Telegraph,
describing his career trajectory from his days sharing a house with The
Clash to designing for Princess Diana. In September, I had the
