On Tuesday, I headed to the Studio Gallery in Washington's Dupont
Circle for the Kal Rieman trunk show. As I mentioned, Cally Rieman is a
New York-based designer who has been on a trunk show tour to expand her
collection outside of New York City. She showed sophisticated,
versatile collections of menswear-inspired clothes for women of all
lifestyles, and the clothes will undoubtedly be a hit in

Shop 'Til You Drop from Washington to London
I've been pining for London this week, but if you need a fashion fix,
you can't go wrong with a high-fashion event in Washington this week,
either. You probably just packed up your fall and winter clothes for
the summer, but you had better start thinking ahead at a must-attend
fashion event at the Studio Gallery in Dupont Circle. New York-based

What I'm Wearing: White House Correspondents Association Dinner Weekend
If you're a journalist in Washington, you get invited to a lot of
events. And, usually, you'll attend--after all, how else will you dine
on fine wine and brie cheese if not for taking advantage of the perks
of being in the press? The crème de la crème of journalist events,
however, is the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) Dinner,
held annually in late April or early May at the
events. And, usually, you'll attend--after all, how else will you dine

Accessorize DC
Union Station near Capitol Hill is a beautiful, historic building that
provides quick and easy access to New York City, but I've admittedly
never thought of it as a shopping destination despite the fact that the
building houses a mall. Above the train tracks you'll find a number of
chain stores ranging from Ann Taylor to Victoria's Secret, but until
today, the only thing I'd ever bought in the

The State of the Long-Sleeve Dress
Just days after the State Dinner, we awaited another First Lady
Michelle Obama dress. After the 2009 State of the Union, we knew that
Michelle Obama would definitely wear a dress with sleeves for tonight's
speech, and likely for every State of the Union she ever attends. I
loved the 2009 sleeveless dress and thought the criticism was stupid,
but you can't blame a woman for avoiding that type of

Hollywood for Glamorous People
While enjoying a 6pm cocktail at Morton's with a gal pal--whose
personal style, incidentally, is very similar to Michelle Obama's--I
noticed the State Dinner arrivals on the television.
Thought #1: "Wonderful. We'll definitely be late to our Restaurant Week
reservation as the roads within 10 blocks of the White House will
surely be blocked."Thought #2: "Wow, Michelle Obama looks incredibly
