Okay, finally I CONFIRM that the software raid used by Mac OS X is NOT compatible with the EFI upgrades :( ... too bad.
Why ? Because i just finished to install a fresh copy of Mac OS X on my 400 Gig "DATA" drive made the upgrade with this distribution ... and it worked like a charm !
So ...
lol, i guess we think alike when it comes to problem solving, u gave me hope that it will work for me as well, this raid is causing too much problems, but i do like the speed and starup time of 20 secs or less... dillemma, keep raid or go back to 4 sepperate disks?

Anyone else out there listening to the Radio 1 chart countdown for the first time in years?
I've heard rumours as to who's won, but those are on the Internet and we all know everything on there is a load of old tosh :D

Their renewed partnership is because there used to be a DirecTivo (which was a dvr separate from the other boxes) that was launched back in 1999 and went through a series of upgrades until 2007.
Their current software found in their boxes is done in house, I know a few people who test it.
I know a few people here in Santa Clara who wrote it ;-)

Looks great, but there's still no SPAM filter? COME ON! Every e-mail provider on the planet has had this for years. I even have one on my own server, set up in less than an hour. This can't be taking Apple 5 years, can it?
This is one of the reasons that I don't use the web interface. That along with the fact that you can't set a different reply to address makes it useless to me.

I have only had 1 issue on OTA map pulling with Map Quest. I once took a different way then suggested and caused the unit to re-rout me automatically. However, at that moment I didn't have service (Thanks AT&T, I was in NYC...) so the app prompted saying "re-routing not available at this time" and then 1 minute later it re-rerouted me when I got service. Not bad. It does everything I want it to. The only thing I wish it had was traffic updates. I have no idea why anyone charges for this. We should get it free with our data packages...
And this is the point why it is ridiculous to pay 40 dollars for an app that if you take the wrong turn or decide to do a small deviation that you're left with no directions if you happen to be out of service.
Why would I pay 40 dollars for an app that won't be flexible when I'm out traveling when I could pay 40 dollars (or less really, last I checked Navigon was 35 for all of the US) for an application I can use anywhere and if I decide to deviate or some how go off track, it has no issue with that? And I can get an app that does the same thing as Garmin for *free* (mapquest). Any advantage Garmin has over Mapquest certainly isn't worth 40 dollars.
Yeah, Garmin might be useful if you only use it in the city. But you know what, my main reason for wanting a GPS app was for driving outside of the city and going on road trips. Sure I use it more often within the city cause that is where I go more and I happen to have it so I use it. But the biggest reason I wanted it was going places I'm not as familiar with (I'm mostly familiar with the city, it's when I leave the area I am familiar with it, I need it the most. Which is going outside the city). In my area, there are plenty of areas (like Mount Rainier) where you just aren't going to get cellphone coverage, period. Not just a small lapse, just isn't there (and no, now that Verizon has the phone, you still aren't going to get coverage in the areas like Mount Rainier, there isn't cellphone coverage period. I'm just using that as one example btw).
Garmin made a huge mistake in that choice of how to do things.

anyone know if you can sync pics from addressbook to the one on .mac - seems like there is a space for them but can't figure out how, thanks.
You can't sync them. It doesn't get the photos from your Address Book, it's getting the picture from that user's .Mac account. If they're not a .Mac user and/or haven't gone into their webmail prefs and uploaded a photo, you're not going to see one.

2011. People are still watching TV? Scary.
indeed. the day will come that it wont matter what you watch content on, just how it gets paid for...
wishing that advertising would just die is fun. pipe-dream, but fun nonetheless. everyone wants to be paid.

I'm quite looking forward to this myself too. Capcom and Konami made some absolutely fantastic side scrolling beat 'em ups during the '90s.

All mah customers is scared of you ... you bein' black and all ... so they'all stand in the other line and make my other checker do all the work.
So's I gots to fire you and hire me more white checkers.
Yeah. Let's bring back those days ... when America was great.
Haha your golden age?
Really though.
We can choose not to employ someone born stupid because they'd do a worse job so why can we not also choose not to employ somebody born of a particular ethnicity if they'd do a worse job because of it?
To clarify, I don't think we should practise racism. Please never quote me out of context. I'm just amused by the logical inconsistency if we accept that ethnicity may play a part in ability (which it probably doesn't, but it's an interesting thought path to follow): then can we choose against someone for it in the same way we choose against somebody born stupid?
I propose that we should be able to choose who to employ (and everything else) by how well they'd do the job, with one qualification: we cannot choose against them if our reason for doing so would be because discrimination against them would compromise their ability to do a job. Because ethnicity is not an absolute disadvantage; at most it can be argued as a social disadvantage in intolerant, racist countries.
Not having the 'disadvantage by social discrimination' clause would be implicitly condoning society's discrimination in allowing others to act by its harmful consequences.
Sorry if my words fell onto the thread all jumbled. I think this makes some sense.

In-app purchase can be disabled using parental control. This is stupid. I expect my tax to be used by my government to tackle bigger problems, oh maybe like jobs and the economy, not to appease some idiot "parents."
Yes correct, this is the parents fault. Its called parenting or should the government send you a check to do that every month too!
