Former James Bond star and Oksana Grigorieva's ex Timothy Dalton could testify against Mel Gibson

It would certainly make for a dramatic courtroom showdown. Oksana Grigorieva's ex and father of her teenage son Alexander, former James Bond star Timothy Dalton, could testify against Mel Gibson in court. In a letter to her lawyer Eric George on June 3 last year, Oksana revealed that Tim noticed a bruise on her left eye after the Signs actor allegedly punched her while she held their baby daughter Lucia.

Oksana Grigorieva's ex Timothy Dalton could testify against Mel Gibson in court in the event he is charged with domestic violence against her

U.S. website RadarOnline has obtained a copy of the letter, in which the 40-year-old Russian musician states: 'Tim saw a bruise on my left eye,' adding that he 'will testify'. The letter reveals damaging evidence which could be used to charge Gibson, 55, with domestic violence.

If Gibson is charged it could lead to a dramatic courtroom showdown - in one of the leaked recording of Mel's rants at Oksana he is heard unleashing a jealous rage against the 64-year-old British actor. In one tape, obtained by Radar Online at the time, Mel says: 'Did you get my last message about me being a bad father and Tim being a great dad now?' adding: 'You didn't hear that one? Well, you should go f*** him now, you know, you fickle c***, because I don't care.'

Oksana Grigorieva turned down the $15 million offered to her by Gibson in order to: 'See where the chips might fall' in court

In the letter to her lawyer, Oksana also notes that her beautician, named as Mady, also noted bruising and was willing to testify against Gibson too. Grigorieva met Licence To Kill star Dalton while she was employed as a translator for filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov.

She gave birth to their son Alexander in August 1997. This latest twist comes after it emerged Oksana turned down a $15m out-of-court settlement from Gibson following their fallout last year.

Oksana's attorney Eric George is now chasing her for unpaid fees

She told of her intention to 'go to court' in an email on June 2 last year, obtained by RadarOnline, to her lawyer George - who is now chasing her for unpaid legal fees. In July last year it emerged that lawyers for the former couple struck a deal during a child custody mediation in May.

Miss Grigorieva signed the deal that awarded her $15 million in child support, a house and other assets. According to reports, the cash settlement came with a promise that all 'evidence' - namely the voice recordings of Gibson's foul-mouthed rants - relating to the case remained confidential. The Russian singer later rejected the deal and the tapes were sensationally made public.

Currently cases involving both Gibson, 55, and his ex are being considered by the Los Angeles District Attorney, who is days away from deciding whether to charge the Signs star with domestic abuse, and Oksana with extortion. Lawyers for Gibson claim that she used the tapes as 'leverage' when negotiating her deal, and threatened to leak them if she wasn't awarded what she was looking for as a settlement, according to TMZ.

The lawyer that landed the $15 (£9.2) million deal for Oksana is now chasing her for a portion of the settlement she originally agreed to, the celebrity website reports. Mr George says his fees amount to ten per cent of the settlement less the amount set aside for child support.
